President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the celebrations held for the 573rd anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul. After performing Friday prayers at Hagia Sophia Mosque, Erdoğan met with journalists and made evaluations on the agenda.
OFFERED TURKISH DELIGHT TO JOURNALISTS
Following his statements regarding the conquest celebrations, President Erdoğan offered Turkish delight to media members. Erdoğan was seen closely interested in the Turkish delights offered to the journalists.
"I AM WATCHING IT" HE SAID
At that moment, when Turkish delight was also extended to him, Erdoğan declined the offer by saying, "I am not eating it, I am watching it." The President's response drew attention from those around him, and the moments were captured on cameras.
When Erdoğan asked how the Turkish delight was, he received the answer, "Very delicious."
President Erdoğan was accompanied by Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Fatih District Mayor Ergün Turan, Istanbul Provincial Police Chief Selami Yıldız, and AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir.
