Major operation in the white meat sector! Audit trustees appointed for 13 companies.

Simultaneous operations were carried out in 8 provinces on allegations that they violated the free competition environment in the white meat sector, directing prices against consumers and causing unfair price increases. Within the scope of the investigation, 32 suspects were detained, and supervisory trustees were appointed for 13 companies.

A large-scale operation was conducted against individuals and companies deemed to have disrupted market functioning and caused unfair price increases in the white meat sector.

According to a statement by Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, simultaneous judicial operations were carried out in 8 provinces under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

SUPERVISORY TRUSTEES APPOINTED TO 13 COMPANIES

A notable step in the investigation involved the companies. Minister Gürlek announced that supervisory trustees were appointed to 13 companies under investigation to ensure the basic food supply chain was not disrupted and commercial activities continued lawfully.

DETENTION DECISIONS FOR 32 SUSPECTS

In the ongoing investigation, detention, search, and seizure procedures were applied to 32 suspects deemed to have violated free competition and directed prices against consumers. The operation was stated to be carried out to ensure citizens have access to basic food products under fair and reasonable conditions.

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER GÜRLEK

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek emphasized that initiatives harming citizens' economic rights and attempting to disrupt market order would not be tolerated. In his statement, Gürlek said, 'Within the framework of the rule of law, no irregularities that harm our citizens' economic rights, attempt to disrupt market order, or aim to obtain unjust gains will be tolerated.'

Minister Gürlek thanked the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Istanbul Provincial Police Department, the Competition Authority, the General Directorate of Market Surveillance and Inspection, and MASAK officials for conducting the investigation.
