A person who claimed that masked individuals entered his house in Alanya district of Antalya and forced him to sign a promissory note with torture, also filed a complaint against his friend who turned out to be the creditor of the note. "MY HANDS AND FEET WERE TIED WITH A PHONE CABLE"Dimitri Ivanyuk stated that he went to his friend R.K's house as a guest on the day of the incident. Ivanyuk claimed that R.K left the door open while going out to the balcony of the 3-storey villa to smoke. "After a while, three bearded and broad-shouldered individuals entered through this door and forced me and R.K to lie down on the floor. My hands and feet were tied with a phone cable. A towel was tied around my head by the individuals with knives. They demanded my phone and computer passwords under threat and asked for the location of the safe. They put my head in a bathtub filled with detergent water. I was beaten and subjected to torture," he said. Ivanyuk, who claimed that he was forced to sign the promissory note, stated that they went to the gendarmerie with R.K. with the help of a friend after the suspects left. He stated that he doesn't know Turkish and R.K helped him to give his statement. Ivanyuk said, "Although I explained what happened to me in my statement at the gendarmerie, my trusted friend did not translate the part about the promissory note that was signed under duress. I learned later through my lawyer that this was not included in the gendarmerie records." THE FRIEND OF THE NOTE'S CREDITOR WAS REVEALEDIvanyuk stated that he received a notification from the court two months after the incident and learned that the promissory note signed by him that night was enforced as 100 million liras. "It turned out that my friend R.K, who was a guest at my house that day, is the creditor of the note. While all my assets were about to be sold through enforcement, we managed to stop the sale by applying to the court. We filed a criminal complaint against R.K for qualified fraud," he said. Lawyer İsmail Alperen Küçükyaman stated that his client's promissory note, which was signed under duress, was damaged and showed a debt of 100 million liras, so all of his client's 8 apartments were put up for sale and his villa was also requested to be sold, and all of his assets and bank accounts were seized. Küçükyaman stated that they filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office and that the process is closely followed by all judicial authorities, including the Alanya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. "MY FORMER PARTNER OWED ME"In the statement given to the police by R.K, against whom a criminal complaint was filed, it was learned that he did not accept the allegations that he organized the incident. R.K, who stated that he lent money to Dimitri Ivanyuk and became partners in 2023, said the following in his statement: "Finally, on September 19, 2023, I lent him 50 thousand dollars. Dimitri made baseless allegations against me. Since he did not pay his debts, we decided to make a promissory note at my house. When we calculated, the debt amounted to 100 million liras. Then he went to his house. When he came to my place around 6:00 pm, he had already filled out part of the note. He wrote the amount himself. He signed his name and signature next to mine. He said he would pay the debt in 3 days, but he didn't pay a single penny of the debt. Upon this, I put the note into operation at the Alanya Enforcement Directorate through my lawyer. The incident of entering Dimitri's house has nothing to do with the note. The claim that I organized the incident is completely baseless." The security forces continue their search for the three masked suspects who are alleged to have entered Dimitri Ivanyuk's house and tortured him.
