HUNDREDS OF DEAD FISH WASHED ASHORE
The incident occurred in the evening at the point where the Çırpıcı Stream, adjacent to Bakırköy Sahil Park on Kennedy Street, meets the sea. Upon the report of citizens who saw numerous dead fish on the water surface, teams were dispatched to the area.

Following the report, AFAD, police, Coast Guard, and municipal teams were deployed to the scene. While the teams took security measures in the area, AFAD personnel took water samples and sent them to the laboratory for analysis.
İSKİ'S WORK DREW ATTENTION
Meanwhile, it was learned that the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) has been carrying out work in the area for about four days. It was observed that İSKİ was conducting wastewater, stormwater, and stream repair work in the stream connected to the sea, causing the water level to drop significantly. The exact cause of the fish deaths will become clear after the analyses.
