In a chain traffic accident involving three cars in the Menderes district of İzmir, five people lost their lives and two others were injured. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Those trapped in the vehicles were rescued by the intervention of the fire brigade teams.

3 VEHICLES COLLIDED
The car with license plate 35 CLF 493, driven by Özkan Nazlı (45), collided with the car with license plate 35 ZY 756, driven by Sultan Baran (22), coming from the opposite direction on the Menderes-Seferihisar highway in the Keler area. The car with license plate 35 CLF 493, which was thrown off by the impact of the collision, hit the car with license plate 45 ARV 589, driven by S.U. (21), who was in motion. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the accident site. Those trapped in the vehicles were rescued by the intervention of the fire brigade teams.
5 PEOPLE DIED AT THE SCENE
In the accident, driver Özkan and his wife Suna Nazlı (45), along with the other car's driver Sultan and her sisters Emine (26) and Fatma Baran (24), lost their lives. The injured E.D.D. (20) and Z.N. (20) were taken to Menderes State Hospital by ambulances.
After the prosecutor's examination at the accident site, the bodies were taken to the morgue of the same hospital. The procedures of the car driver S.U., who escaped the accident without injury, are ongoing at the gendarmerie.
