A major crisis has erupted in Israel, which has turned Gaza into a bloodbath and killed tens of thousands of civilians since October 7, 2023. Following the arrest of 9 soldiers accused of torturing a Palestinian prisoner, far-right protesters in Israel clashed with security forces and stormed a military base. Despite Prime Minister Netanyahu's strong reaction and call for calm, the protest reportedly continued.
9 soldiers accused of torturing a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman detention facility in Israel have been arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the military. The Army Radio stated that all the arrested soldiers are suspected of "seriously mistreating the detainee" and carrying out the mistreatment together.
PROTESTERS ENTER MILITARY BASE
The arrest news angered far-right protesters. A crowd gathered in front of the Beit Lid Base in central Israel clashed with Israeli security forces. It was reported that the protesters entered the military base. Prime Minister Netanyahu, IDF Commander Halevi, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and President Isaac Herzog strongly criticized the uprising and called for calm, but the protests continued.
"STOP THIS MADNESS IMMEDIATELY"
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also made a call, asking the government to prevent the fragmentation of the state and the army. Bennett, who served as prime minister in Israel from 2021 to 2022, used the expression "Stop this madness immediately" in a written statement published on the X platform.
Bennett said, "Our enemies are attacking us from all sides, while a handful of rebels are storming a military base in Israel to dismantle the rule of law and our country. They want to dismantle the only Jewish state in the world. They will either ignore the chaos or encourage it."

Bennett emphasized that the uprisings and rebellions are the biggest gift to Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, and the country's other enemies. He stated that everyone should immediately stop the uprising, leave the military area, and abide by the law.
