Mehmet Büyükekşi, who was accused of corruption by İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, defended himself in this way.

The former president of the Turkish Football Federation, Mehmet Büyükekşi, and former board members responded to the claims made by the current president, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, regarding their tenure.

BÜYÜKEKŞİ'S DEFENSE

Hacıosmanoğlu had stated that financial irregularities occurred during the former TFF administration and that they would file a criminal complaint regarding this matter. The response from Büyükekşi and the former executives is as follows:

"It has become necessary to make this statement due to the unfounded claims targeting our management period made by the TFF President through the media.

When the financial statements of the Turkish Football Federation are examined by individuals with expertise in financial literacy, it will be seen that the income and expenditure statements have been prepared in accordance with the regulations. Nevertheless, in order to present the facts to the public, we are providing the following statement.

The unfounded claims in question have been presented under two main headings:

• TFF expenditures during the European Championship process
• Portraying TFF as indebted.

EURO 2024 EXPENDITURES

1 - Our National Team, for the first time in its history, qualified for the European Football Championship by finishing first in the group qualifiers and reached the quarter-finals after 16 years; the budget for the preparation process and the tournament was meticulously planned and executed.

The mentioned budget includes the costs of the matches played away against Italy and Poland at the beginning of June, as well as the transportation, accommodation, health, and the costs of the security personnel responsible for the safety of our National Football Team assigned by our State during the camp and tournament period from June 11 to July 8 in Germany.

The training facilities were determined by UEFA. The camp costs were also collected from the national federations by UEFA. The remaining costs of the total expenditure cover the transportation and accommodation expenses of sponsor representatives, club presidents, representatives of the sports community, and professional federation staff based on their contractual rights.

TFF'S DEBT

2 - The first fact that must be known to prevent responsible individuals from misleading the public with unjust accusations is as follows:

The TFF cannot incur debt due to its status. It is not legally possible for it to incur debt. It generates income and covers its expenses. Financial general assemblies are approved accordingly, and our administration has been approved.

During our term; broadcasting revenues increased by approximately two times; the number of sponsors and sponsor income increased fourfold.

TFF resources have been used effectively and efficiently for purely sporting purposes in accordance with the TFF status and with the legal counsel's opinion on legal compliance.

LEGAL PROCESS WILL BE INITIATED

In light of the reasons stated above; all legal avenues will be pursued regarding the unfounded claims and slander process aimed at distorting the truth.

Those who insult based on incomplete, incorrect, and unfounded claims, whether legal entities or private individuals, will also be subject to legal processes in the same manner. We respectfully present this to the public's knowledge."
