The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Provincial Presidency of Erzurum purchased the 112-year-old Haci Bekir Zade Aga Mansion, which was registered by the Ministry of Culture at the time, and became the provincial headquarters. MHP Provincial Chairman Adem Yurdagül said, "This valuable work left to us by history will host our party, which is filled with historical honor." The historical mansion, built in 1912 by Haci Bekir Zade Aga, one of the leading merchants of the time, located in Murat Pasha neighborhood of Yakutiye district, was registered by the Ministry of Culture in 1979 due to its architectural and stone decorations. Haci Bekir Zade Aga Mansion, with its bath and massive Russian stove, is unique in its category. In addition to the works from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, the mansion, which resembles the Double Minaret and Yakutiye madrasas, which are symbols of the city, also attracts attention with its unique examples of stone craftsmanship in civil architecture. "THE MANSION WAS USED AS A RUSSIAN COMMAND FOR 2 YEARS"Provincial Chairman Adem Yurdagül stated that the mansion, which he introduced to the press members at the meeting held today, was built with Ottoman architecture. Yurdagül, stating that the purchase and restoration of the mansion cost 24 million liras, said; "The mansion was built in 1912 by Haci Bekir Zade during the Ottoman period. In 1915, due to the Russian war, the family had to go to Sivas. The mansion we are in right now was used as a Russian command for 2 years. After the end of the Russian war, the family came back here in 1917, settled, and continued their lives here for about 3 generations. "WE HAVE A PROVINCIAL HEADQUARTERS THAT HAS NO EQUAL IN TURKEY"When the mother of the family passed away, they announced the sale of this place to the heirs of the children. We also showed interest. We started the process by reaching an agreement with them on the price. Due to its historical significance and the glorious and honorable history of the Nationalist Movement Party, it made us happy to serve as the Nationalist Movement Party in such a mansion. We opened our doors to the people of Erzurum and started serving with gratitude by beautifying and restoring it in accordance with its original form. Currently, it is unique in terms of its historical background, as a mansion, and as a history. We have a provincial headquarters that has no equal in Turkey." Yurdagül added that the mansion consists of 700 square meters and approximately 10 rooms. He said, "We have created a reception area at the entrance. We also have places to accommodate our deputy provincial chairmen, women's branches, and our guests. We have a small and large meeting room. We have a garden. In our garden, we have a pavilion where we can accommodate our guests. There is also a fountain in the garden of the mansion."
