I want this to be known as a priority."

The new Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek, spoke for the first time after taking office. In a live broadcast where he was a guest, Minister Gürlek made evaluations regarding the agenda, stating that he stands with the 86 million who need justice beyond any political identity, and he said that his door is open to everyone and every political party in need of rights and law.

The relevant part of Minister Gürlek's statements is as follows:

"WE ARE READY TO SERVE, WE ARE EXCITED"

"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to our esteemed President for the trust, appreciation, and appointment he has given me for this important duty. I also extend my special thanks to the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, for expressing his support with the kind congratulatory message he published after the oath-taking ceremony. I send my respects to all my citizens who do not spare their prayers and convey their congratulations and good wishes, especially to my fellow citizens from Nevşehir, as you know, the first minister elected from Nevşehir after 33 years. I hope this will be a beneficial program. May God be our helper. We will serve our nation on the path of justice. We are ready to serve as much as we can, and we are excited. Hopefully, we will bring new projects along with our excitement.

"I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF ISTANBUL"

You know that until yesterday, I was before you as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul. Istanbul is a city of 17 million. It has been my privilege to serve as the chief prosecutor of this city. This duty was entrusted to me. I hope I have fulfilled this duty properly. First of all, I would like to thank my very valuable prosecutor colleagues and court staff with whom I have worked together.

"I AM THE MINISTER OF 86 MILLION"

Now, as you know, I am the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey with the appreciation and appointment of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We must not forget this; I am the Minister of Justice for our 86 million citizens. I am not the owner of this position but its trustee. Justice is the honor of the state. Where it is damaged, trust is shaken, and if trust is shaken, public order is disrupted. I stand with the 86 million citizens who need justice beyond any political identity; I am their minister. I am with those who need rights and law. We need to evaluate this primarily.

"MY DOOR IS OPEN TO EVERY POLITICAL PARTY"

Whoever needs justice, whichever citizen it may be, if there is a victimization in favor of rights and law, my door is open to everyone. It is open to every political party. I want this to be known primarily. I am Turkey's Minister of Justice. I was appointed to this position to listen to the rights and legal issues, and victimizations of our 86 million citizens. I hope to fulfill this duty with dignity. My previous position was the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul. I believe I worked efficiently there and accomplished important tasks. From this point on, I hope to stand by rights and law as the Minister of Justice. If our citizens have needs or victimizations, I will be by their side in favor of rights and law. I am the Minister of Justice for 86 million, and I am a servant of justice in this regard."
