The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change is rapidly continuing the construction of modern village houses in the areas affected by earthquakes. The goal is to deliver 30,000 village houses by the end of the year.

The General Director of Construction Affairs of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Oral, stated that approximately 60,000 village houses have been tendered in the regions affected by the disaster so far, saying, "The construction of our village houses is progressing very quickly. Our goal is to deliver around 30,000 village residences by the end of the year." The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change continues its efforts for the revitalization and reconstruction of the region following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. While solid foundations are being built in city centers with social amenities, modern village houses are also being constructed in the villages that have been devastated.

"CONGRATULATIONS, MAY YOUR HOME BE HAPPY"

The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, shared images of the village houses being built in Hatay, where citizens have started to settle, on his social media account. In his message, Minister Kurum stated: "Our state and our government are very strong. We have not left any of our citizens who trust us in the lurch, and we will not. In the villages connected to Hatay, we are delivering single-story, earthquake-resistant, modern houses that are compatible with local architecture to citizens affected by the earthquake. Congratulations, may your home be happy."

DELIVERY OF 30,000 VILLAGE HOUSES IS TARGETED BY THE END OF THE YEAR

The village houses, made of reinforced concrete and steel frame, are being built in the range of 100 to 125 square meters, with 3+1 layouts. So far, 4,120 village houses have been delivered to their rightful owners in 11 provinces after the earthquake. Work is ongoing for the construction of 48,274 village houses in 105 districts. The General Director of Construction Affairs of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Oral, stated that approximately 60,000 village houses have been tendered in the regions affected by the disaster so far, saying, "The construction of our village houses is progressing very quickly. Our goal is to deliver around 30,000 village residences by the end of the year."

General Director Oral explained that they pay attention to details such as ensuring that balcony facades do not face each other to maintain privacy in the village house projects. Oral stated the following regarding the residences: "There are 6 different types of village houses developed by our ministry. We select the appropriate type of village house by considering both the geographical features of the region and the demand conditions, and we start their construction. We place particular importance on quality and privacy in the village houses we build. Our village residences are constructed to be earthquake-resistant and insulated. Our aim is to reunite our disaster-affected brothers with their peaceful, happy, and secure homes as soon as possible."

70% OF THE VILLAGE WAS DESTROYED

The neighborhood muhtar (village head) Ömer Şaday pointed out that 70% of the houses in their village were destroyed in the earthquake. Muhtar Şaday spoke about the reconstruction process of the village: "The teams started their work quickly. Our minister kept his promise and had the village houses built here. We did not expect them to be this beautiful. Our houses were built like villas. They used 18-19 tons of iron in the construction. Our houses are now built as solid as a rock. I could not have built such beautiful ones with my own money. Our state, especially our President, has put their hands to the stone. They quickly reunited us with our residences." He added, "If there were another earthquake, I know that nothing would happen to the houses. Solid, reliable residences have been built."

"THE HOUSES ARE PERFECT"

Disaster survivor Cemile Yüceuğur, who now feels safe, said, "When the houses started to be built, I did not expect them to be finished this quickly, but they were. We thought it would take 2-3 years, but they completed them immediately. The houses are perfect. May God bless those who built them and contributed to the effort."
