The grief of 42-year-old Emine Yani, who lost her life in a fire at a gym in Batman, plunged her family into mourning. Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek came to Batman to attend the funeral condolences for his nephew who died in the fire. Şimşek offered his condolences to his brother and family members at the condolence house.

Minister Şimşek came to Batman to attend the condolence program held for his niece Emine Yani, who died in a fire that broke out at a private sports hall on August 30. Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Zekeriya Kaya accompanied Şimşek.
OFFERED CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY
Şimşek, along with his delegation, went to the condolence house at Necat Nasıroğlu Complex. There, Minister Şimşek came together with his brother Ahmet Şimşek and family members, conveying his condolences.
Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp and AK Party Batman Provincial Chairman Hüseyin Şansi also attended the condolence visit.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 30, a fire broke out in the sauna section of a private sports hall in Batman's Gültepe District. While those trapped in the building, which quickly filled with dense smoke, were evacuated by teams, 12 people affected by the smoke were taken to the hospital.
Emine Yani and Şanzime Sarıgül, who were taken under treatment at the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. With the death of Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç, who was being treated with serious injuries, the death toll in the fire rose to 3.
It was learned that Emine Yani, 42, married and mother of 5 children, was the daughter of Ahmet Şimşek, the brother of Minister Mehmet Şimşek. It was stated that Yani had gone to the sports hall to swim and was affected by the dense smoke during the fire.
Within the scope of the investigation launched after the fire, 2 business owners were arrested, while 3 employees were released.
