The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, made a striking call in his speech at Saraçhane, describing the 'mistreatment' in the processes of detention and arrest. Özel stated, "Those who do not commit crimes should not be afraid. Write down the testimonies you have seen in a sealed envelope without forgetting them. Then you will be saved, and the actions of this gang will come to light like a unraveling sock."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made statements at the İBB Building in Saraçhane. Özel, who made remarks about the "mistreatment" during the protests regarding the arrest of İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, made a striking call for a "sealed envelope."
"STUDENTS WERE HANDCUFFED BACKWARDS"
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated; "You have put 2 young people, while the remaining 47 are those who are in prison with sentences that will shock all of us. This is unacceptable. Keeping those young people in this psychological state is direct psychological torture. We have made the necessary applications, and we want results as soon as possible. These students were handcuffed backwards and held in places unknown to their families for hours. 4 bottles of water were given to 60 people. Mistreatment and insults were reported by each student. We know the times and places of these incidents. We know where and by whom the acts of hitting on the head and kicking in the face were carried out.
"DON'T FORGET TO WRITE IN A SEALED ENVELOPE"
From now on, I remind all those who execute orders to not apply unlawful orders according to the constitution and to exercise their right to request in writing. Those who have witnessed these in the past should write the truths in a sealed envelope and keep them safe; then you will be saved, and the actions of this gang will come to light like a thread unraveling. Everyone should know that we are under the guidance of those who have held important positions in the past. When the day comes for those who hit on the neck and face, the law will catch up with them.
