The winner of Miss Turkey 2024 and a medical graduate, İdil Bilgen, has not started her position despite being appointed to the Bingöl Yayladere Community Health Center. Bilgen is continuing her education in New York with the general surgery residency she earned in the United States. She is being cited as an example for her academic and social achievements.
Miss Turkey 2024 winner and medical school graduate İdil Bilgen stands out with her multifaceted career in both beauty and academia. Appointed to the Community Health Center in Bingöl Yayladere District as part of her state service obligation, Bilgen did not start this position. Instead, she decided to continue her career by pursuing surgical residency in the United States.
Stating that she moved to New York in July 2025, Bilgen quickly earned the right to receive general surgery residency at North Shore University Hospital, one of the most prestigious healthcare institutions in the USA under Northwell Health. In her post, Bilgen inspired others with the words, "This new journey I started 7 weeks ago is a concrete step towards my dreams. Don't let your imagination limit you; when you focus, everything is possible."
Bilgen, who first worked on women's health awareness in Ukraine and then passed the medical exams in the USA (USMLE Step 3) to qualify for residency, draws attention with her academic and social achievements.
After achieving rankings in beauty pageants, İdil Bilgen is now stepping into an international career in the health field and is among the young names being showcased as role models.
