A Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to the China-based Spring Airlines lost 8,000 meters of altitude due to a malfunction in the cabin pressure system while en route from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Tokyo Narita Airport and was forced to make an emergency landing. After the incident, each passenger was offered approximately 15,000 yen (104 dollars) in compensation and a one-night hotel stay. Additionally, a technical investigation has been initiated. There were 191 passengers on board, and no one was injured.

A passenger plane belonging to Spring Airlines, based in China, had to make an emergency landing after losing altitude of about 8,000 meters due to a malfunction in the cabin pressure system.

The Boeing 737 aircraft took off from Shanghai Pudong Airport in China on Monday, heading towards Tokyo Narita Airport in Japan. However, a serious issue occurred during the flight. The pilots noticed a malfunction in the system that regulates cabin pressure and immediately informed air traffic control.

After this malfunction, the plane rapidly descended from an altitude of 36,000 feet (approximately 11,000 meters) to 10,500 feet (approximately 3,200 meters) in just 10 minutes.

The fear experienced by the passengers was also reflected on social media. Oxygen masks dropped from the ceiling, some passengers screamed, while others prayed. One passenger told the Associated Press, "First, I heard a muffled explosion, then the oxygen mask dropped within a few seconds. The flight attendant told us to put on the masks while crying and explained that the plane had malfunctioned."

Another passenger said, "I almost started crying. I wrote my will, I even noted down the passwords for my credit cards."

After this incident, the plane was diverted to Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan, and landed safely. There were 191 passengers on board, and no one was injured.

The airline offered each passenger approximately 15,000 yen (104 dollars) in compensation and one night of hotel accommodation after the incident. Additionally, a technical investigation related to the incident was initiated.

Meanwhile, a similar incident occurred last week in the United States. A passenger plane belonging to American Airlines made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Las Vegas due to a fire in one of its engines.

The plane had taken off to head to Charlotte, North Carolina. However, when the passengers saw flames coming from the engine, they reported the situation. The aircraft, carrying 153 passengers and 6 crew members, quickly turned back and landed safely at the airport in Las Vegas. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident either.
