In Kütahya, a father and son attracted attention by gathering 4 baskets of morel mushrooms during a mushroom hunt in the forest, and it was noted that this rare mushroom attracts intense interest due to its high value.
Isa Gunduz, a tradesman from the Tavsanli district of Kutahya, and his son Behlul Gunduz, found what can only be described as a "treasure" during a mushroom hunt in a forested area. The father-son duo, searching for the rare spring delicacy morel mushrooms, amazed onlookers by collecting four baskets of mushrooms.
Morel mushrooms, which appear in nature after spring rains and are one of the most valuable mushrooms in the gastronomy world, this time brought smiles to the faces of Tavsanli tradesman Isa Gunduz and his son Behlul Gunduz. The father and son traveled from Tavsanli to the forested areas in the Harmancik district of Bursa and, after a day-long search, achieved a bountiful harvest. Carefully combing the forest step by step, the Gunduz family managed to fill four baskets with the morel mushrooms they found in a short time.
"IT WAS A VERY BOUNTIFUL DAY"
Isa Gunduz, stating that collecting morel mushrooms, described as "natural wealth" by the local population, requires great patience and experience, said, "My son Behlul and I enjoy spending time in nature. This year, with the rains, morels have been quite abundant. We came to the Harmancik region to seek our share and encountered much more than we expected. We collected a full four baskets of mushrooms; it was a very bountiful day."
MARKET VALUE IS QUITE HIGH
Morel mushrooms, which have a high market value due to their rarity in nature and significant medicinal value, attract intense interest from both locals and traders. Experts continue to warn citizens inexperienced in mushroom picking to be cautious of toxic species found in nature.
This bountiful mushroom hunt by the father and son has also become a source of motivation for other mushroom enthusiasts in the district.
