Mustafa Destici reacts to Bahçeli's call for "DEM and İmralı to meet face to face."

The leader of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, who held a press conference at his party's headquarters, reacted to the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, stating, "Let the DEM Party and İmralı meet face to face."

"LET'S NOT BE BITTEN BY THE SAME SNAKES AGAIN"

Destici stated, "We say let’s not be bitten by the same snakes from the same holes again, and let’s continue our struggle against terrorism in a relentless and determined manner."

"THE STRUGGLE MUST CONTINUE UNINTERRUPTED"

Expressing that there are no terrorists left in the mountains and plains of the country, Destici said, "What is there today, what are we fighting against? The terrorist organization is present in municipalities, in the Parliament, in the press, and in other areas. We say 'no negotiation with terrorism and terrorists, but struggle' and we believe that the struggle must continue uninterrupted."

WHAT HAPPENED?

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli reiterated his call made on October 22 during his party's group meeting, saying, "Let the DEM Party and İmralı meet face to face." Following Bahçeli's call, the co-chairs of the DEM Party submitted a written application to the Ministry of Justice to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Supporting Bahçeli's agenda-setting call at today's AK Party group meeting, President Erdoğan stated, "We act in harmony and coordination with Mr. Bahçeli on every issue. Mr. Bahçeli has indeed put forward a courageous and paradigm-shifting proposal. As the president, we are also addressing this issue meticulously and calmly, considering its political, social, and regional implications. The current situation does not allow us to be very hopeful. In the past, I said you will bury the weapons; the moment you bury the weapons, your path will be cleared. If you do not bury the weapons, the hand of this state will also be on your shoulder. Our fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated."
