The soaring house rents in Turkey, which have reached exorbitant figures, have caused heated debates between tenants and landlords, and now a famous name has joined the circle. Singer Mustafa Sandal has requested the dismissal of the lawsuit filed by his landlord, who wants to increase the rent of his 3+1 house in Istanbul's Etiler neighborhood from 65,000 TL to 170,000 TL.

High rent increases have been attracting attention in Turkey recently. Landlords determine prices without looking at any data in order to reach the prices they see from each other. In this context, celebrities also have disagreements with the owners of their luxury residences. The famous singer Mustafa Sandal is the latest rent victim.

FROM 65,000 TL TO 170,000 TL

Irem Argat, the owner of the 3+1 house where Mustafa Sandal lives in Etiler, wanted to increase the rent from 65,000 TL to 170,000 TL. Upon Sandal's refusal, Argat applied to the court. The petition submitted to the court by Argat's lawyer included the following statements: It is not expected for Irem Argat to tolerate a monthly rent of 65,000 lira when the rent of similar houses on the mentioned site is between 200,000 and 220,000 lira for this period.

Prior to the lawsuit, a mediation meeting was held with Mustafa Sandal, but no agreement was reached. Therefore, considering the economic conditions, we request that the rent for the new period be determined as 170,000 lira per month.

REQUEST FOR DISMISSAL OF THE LAWSUIT

Mustafa Sandal, on the other hand, stated that the amount requested for rent is an exorbitant price and requested the dismissal of the lawsuit, stating that the landlord's aim is to evict him.
