Mutlu Kaya, who was severely injured 9 years ago when her boyfriend shot her in the head at her home in the Ergani district of Diyarbakır, and her sister Dilek Kaya, who was killed 4 years ago, shot a music video for the lyrics she wrote for women who are victims of violence, just like herself. Mutlu Kaya, known from a singing competition on a television channel, was shot in the head by her boyfriend on the night of May 18, 2015, while rehearsing at home before a television program she would attend in Istanbul. After a long struggle for life, Kaya was shaken by the death of her sister Dilek Kaya on March 22, 2020, while she was undergoing intensive treatment to get back on her feet. Mutlu Kaya, who lost her sister, who never left her side during her treatment, due to her boyfriend's armed attack, was almost devastated by life. Kaya, who took a break from her treatment, locked herself in her home. SHE WROTE AND COMPOSED A SONG FOR WOMENInspired by the life stories of women and girls who were kidnapped, killed, or threatened that she saw in the news, Kaya decided to get back on her feet and become the voice of women. Starting reflexology treatment (a complementary medicine method that provides supportive treatment for various ailments by applying pressure to the nerve endings in the hands and feet) at a private clinic, Kaya wrote and composed a song titled "Resurrection" with the support of her music teacher Emrah Cebe for women who are victims of violence. Kaya shot a music video for her song, which expresses the feelings of victims of violence, at various historical sites in Diyarbakır, and her song will be released on digital music platforms. "AFTER MY SISTER WAS KILLED, IT WAS AS IF I ENTERED THE GRAVE"Kaya stated that she was shot in the head in 2015, spent a long time in intensive care, her heart stopped several times, and that doctors said it was a miracle for her to live, but despite everything, she resisted and did not die. Kaya, who fought to get back on her feet and sing again for 5 years after being shot, said, "My sister Dilek was always by my side, carrying me on her back. After she died, it was as if I was under the grave, I couldn't breathe. Before that, I was doing very well, I was healing. I was becoming happy again until my sister was killed. After that, I lost myself." "I HAD NO RIGHT TO GIVE UP"Kaya explained that she then decided to fight, saying, "I realized that I needed to get back on my feet and fight for women. I had no right to give up. If I had given up, it would have been unfair to the women who were killed and victimized like me." Kaya, who said, "Ikbal, Ayşenur, Rojin is currently missing, Narin was killed. These are very sad. I feel very sad as if someone from my own family has been harmed," expressed that she promised herself to sing again. Kaya noted that no one would believe she would sing again 9 years ago, recalling that she could not speak at that time. Kaya said: "Now my song is coming out. The name of my song is 'Resurrection'. We women are rising again. We wrote it for our women. It turned out to be a very beautiful song. I dedicate it to all beings that suffer oppression, not only in Turkey but also in the world."
