The successful actress Nesrin Cavadzede recently appeared before the audience with her role in the series "Sandık Kokusu." This beautiful actress has recently made headlines not with her screen appearances but with a post she shared on social media.
“AZERI GIRL” NOTE
Cavadzede, who shared poses with a back-deep neckline with her followers, received backlash from her Azerbaijani followers for her note "Azeri girl" on the post.
“WE ARE NOT AZERIS, WE ARE AZERBAIJANI TURKS”
Cavadzede, who described herself as an "Azeri girl," received numerous comments from her followers of Azerbaijani descent. The followers corrected her by stating that the term "Azeri" is a wrong and diminutive description, saying, "We are Azerbaijani Turks, not Azeris." Among the comments were criticisms such as, "Pay attention to how you introduce yourself," and "The term Azeri is a name given to us by the Russians."
ILBER ORTAYLI HAD ALSO WARNED
Historian-writer Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı had made a striking statement regarding this issue during a conference on "Caucasian History" at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Ortaylı emphasized that it is not correct to use the term "Azeri" for Azerbaijanis, stating, "The term Azeri is used in Turkey out of ignorance. This is a term that was introduced later. The people here are Turks."
