HOST CITY HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
Erdoğan announced that the 2026 NATO Heads of State and Government Summit will be held in Ankara. In his statement, President Erdoğan said, "We missed the NATO leaders' summit held in The Hague on June 24-25. We reflected our will to remove barriers to the trade of defense industry products in the alliance documents.
In both the closed meeting and our discussions with the leaders, we drew attention to the oppression that has been ongoing in Gaza for 21 months. God willing, Turkey will host the 2026 NATO Heads of State and Government Summit in July. We will host NATO leaders in our capital Ankara and lay the groundwork for very important decisions to be made."
STRIKING MESSAGE OF A TERRORISM-FREE TURKEY
In his speech, he also stated, "We are pleased with the progress made in the terrorism-free Turkey efforts that we initiated as the People's Alliance and have meticulously carried out as a state project." He added, "We appreciate the responsible and constructive statements of political actors, which we find very valuable for the success of the process. FOREST FIRES ON ERDOĞAN'S AGENDA
Erdoğan also made the following statements: With the arrival of summer, there has been an increase in forest fires. Since June 1, 1,516 fires have occurred. 1,507 of them have been brought under control. Our planes and helicopters have dropped 33,200 tons of water. 31 individuals identified as responsible have been detained. 10 have been arrested, and 10 have been released under judicial measures. Efforts are ongoing to bring the fires in İzmir, Menderes, Seferihisar, Makina Akhisar, and Muğla Bodrum under control. The fires in Sakarya-Bilecik have been partially brought under control.
"WE HAVE ACHIEVED A VERY GOOD MOMENTUM IN AGRICULTURE"
Although the opposition claims otherwise, we have achieved a very good momentum in agriculture. The support and incentives we provide to our farmers play a significant role in this. More than 90% of these loans, amounting to 653 billion lira, consist of subsidized loans for which our state provides interest support. We are also supporting farmers who were adversely affected by the frost event in April. We are compensating for the losses of our uninsured producers."
