The President of YÖK, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, announced that the diplomas of graduates from Turkish universities operating in the northern regions of Syria are recognized by Syria. This process was successfully completed following contacts between the relevant institutions.
The President of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, announced that the diplomas of students who graduated from Turkish universities operating in the northern regions of Syria have been officially recognized by Syria. This development was realized as a result of positive outcomes from the ongoing contacts between the relevant institutions of the two countries.
THE PROCESS WAS COMPLETED POSITIVELY
In a post on his social media account, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar stated that the process of recognizing the diplomas of students who graduated from Turkish universities providing education in the northern regions of Syria has been successfully completed. Özvar emphasized that the process was carried out through inter-institutional cooperation.
AN EXPERT COMMISSION WILL BE ESTABLISHED
It has been reported that a decision was made to establish an expert commission within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Syria to recognize the diplomas of graduates from Gaziantep University and Health Sciences University and to regulate the academic status of students. This step is considered important for the protection of students' rights and the safeguarding of their academic achievements.

Özvar expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Syria, Mervan al-Halabi, for mutual understanding and cooperation, and also extended his thanks to all institutions that contributed to the process.
Prof. Özvar stated: "The process of recognizing the diplomas of students who graduated from Turkish universities operating in the northern regions of Syria has been positively completed as a result of the contacts carried out between the relevant institutions."
