Two sisters who came to Istanbul for vacation from the Netherlands fell ill at the hotel they were staying in Fatih. The sisters were hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning.
TWO EXPAT SISTERS HOSPITALIZED
The incident occurred around 1:00 PM at a hotel in the Mesihpaşa neighborhood of Fatih district. According to the information obtained, Sadegül O. (29), who came to Istanbul Fatih for vacation with her sister E.O. (16) from the Netherlands, was hospitalized today on suspicion of food poisoning. The two sisters were treated at Çapa Medical Hospital for complaints of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
SUSPICION OF POISONING
Upon notification from the hospital, police teams conducted an investigation at the hotel. The two sisters, who were victims, informed law enforcement that they arrived in Istanbul on November 17 and checked into the hotel. Sadegül O. stated that they explored Fatih on November 17 and 18, eating and drinking at various places. Sadegül O. mentioned that they went to the hospital around 1:00 PM today due to complaints of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
While Sadegül O. was discharged after her treatment, it was learned that her sister E.O. continued to receive treatment in the pediatric ward and that her life was not in danger. The investigation initiated regarding the incident is ongoing.
