Nihat Kahveci commented on Turkey's victory over Georgia as "the best national performance in years." Praising Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Arda Güler, Kahveci reacted strongly to Berke Özer, who was allegedly reported to have left the camp, stating, "This is the National Team; you can't just leave as you please."
The national team’s match where they defeated Georgia 4-1 in Kocaeli was commented on by Nihat Kahveci on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, who stated that they displayed one of the best national performances he has seen in recent years.
Kahveci said, "The opponent was not San Marino, but a team with good players like Georgia. With the support of the audience, we gave a football lesson. Everyone played very well, I applaud from the coaching staff to the players. Well done, kids, our kids!"
Emphasizing the superiority of the national team throughout the game, Kahveci stated, "After 2-0, we broke Georgia's hopes. In the 52-minute period, we played the best football of recent times. With this football, good results can also be achieved in the away match against Spain. However, problems start when we give the ball to the opponent. We need to have possession of the ball," he said.
PRAISE FOR HAKAN AND ARDA
Kahveci evaluated the performances of Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Arda Güler in a separate context. Kahveci said, "Mashallah, Hakan played superbly. We used to struggle a lot with set pieces, now it’s the opposite. Hakan and Arda's crosses really excite me," he said.
HARSH WORDS FOR BERKE ÖZER: THIS IS THE A NATIONAL TEAM
Speaking about Berke Özer, who is claimed to have left the A National Team camp without permission, Nihat Kahveci used quite harsh expressions. Kahveci said, "If the coach's statements are true and he sent a message at 4 in the morning and left, Berke Özer is not right at all. According to the TFF's statement, I cannot defend Berke here. This is the A National Team; a place everyone dreams of and runs to. He said he was given permission to leave, but it doesn’t seem that way. If he left without permission and on his own accord, that is unacceptable," he said.
