Nike, the manufacturer of sports equipment, has stopped taking orders in Turkey following the tax decision for imported products. The company stated that it has suspended orders due to recent changes in customs regulations in Turkey and apologized to its customers. "WE CANNOT GUARANTEE SMOOTH DELIVERY OF ORDERS"In a statement from the company, it was mentioned that the impact of recent changes in customs regulations in Turkey on the shopping experience of Turkish consumers is being examined. The statement said, "We are continuing to examine the impact of recent changes in customs regulations in Turkey on the shopping experience of our Turkish consumers. Unfortunately, we are currently suspending online orders placed from Turkey because we cannot guarantee the smooth and timely delivery of orders." CUSTOMS DUTIES INCREASED, SHOPPING LIMIT LOWEREDWith the decision published in the Official Gazette on August 6, the customs duty for products with a value of less than 30 euros (1099 TL) coming from European Union countries was increased from 18% to 30%. The same tariff was also decided to be applied to pharmaceutical products with a value of less than 1500 euros. If these products come from countries outside the EU, a tax of 60% per shopping will be collected. The decision, previously regulated as "goods with a value of less than 150 euros," was changed to 30 euros. The increased tax rates will be implemented starting from August 21, according to the decision published with the signature of President Erdogan.
