The Turkish Football Federation announced that it has accepted the candidacy applications of Mehmet Büyükekşi, Servet Yardımcı, and İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu before the general assembly.
The Turkish Football Federation made a statement on its official website regarding the presidential election. TFF accepted the candidacy applications of Mehmet Büyükekşi, Servet Yardımcı, and İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu before the general assembly.
SERVET YARDIMCI WITHDREW YESTERDAY
In the statement by TFF, it was announced that the candidacy applications of Mehmet Büyükekşi, Servet Yardımcı, and İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu were accepted. Servet Yardımcı had announced his withdrawal from the presidential candidacy on Thursday.
In the statement made by TFF, it was stated that "The candidacy applications for the presidential election to be held at the Ordinary Financial and Election General Assembly of the Turkish Football Federation on July 18, 2024, ended on July 11, 2024, in accordance with Article 38 of the TFF Statute. The evaluation authority of the qualification criteria specified in the second paragraph of Article 38 of the TFF Statute and the application documents, by examining the applications made to the TFF General Secretariat within the specified period for the TFF Presidency, belongs to the General Assembly Board, the individuals who applied to the TFF General Secretariat to be a presidential candidate are listed below in alphabetical order;
- Mr. İbrahim Ethem HACIOSMANOĞLU
- Mr. Mehmet BÜYÜKEKŞİ
- Mr. Servet YARDIMCI
Other candidacy applications made to the TFF General Secretariat were not accepted as they did not meet the conditions specified in Article 38/1 of the TFF Statute," the statement said.
WHEN IS THE ELECTION?
In the announcement made by the Turkish Football Federation in April, it was stated that the TFF Ordinary General Assembly meeting, which was supposed to be held by July 31, will be held on July 18, 2024, taking into account the participation of the Turkish National Football Team in the EURO 2024 Finals and the start and end dates of the tournament. The TFF Presidency election will take place on Thursday, July 18.
