Oğuzhan Özyakup, former player of the Turkish National Football Team and Beşiktaş, has retired from his professional football career at the age of 31. Oğuzhan Özyakup, former player of Beşiktaş and the Turkish National Football Team, has decided to retire from football at the age of 31. Özyakup announced his retirement through his personal social media accounts, stating that he had experienced unforgettable moments in his career and said the following: "I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to play in teams with goals and dreams. I have played matches that I will never forget, as special as championships and cups."

Looking back, I have had moments and memories that most footballers will not have. However, in the last 2 seasons, although I played difficult and exciting matches, I realized that I was not happy with the style of football I played and that I was far from where I wanted to be. I have been thinking a lot to make this decision for the past few months."

Oğuzhan Özyakup, who received offers from clubs in the Turkish Super League during the summer transfer period, also thanked them in his statement and used the following expressions: "Because I have always felt like Beşiktaşlı Oğuzhan and I always wanted to be known as such, it was not possible for me to play for another club. I have been thinking a lot for the past few months to make this decision for my football career and it was not easy for me. However, due to the lack of sufficient goals in return for the infinite love and value I have given to football, I have decided to end my professional football career.
