Two high school students aged 15 and 16 were arrested in Kahramanmaraş for creating explicit photos of their female friends using artificial intelligence. The students, who are facing a disciplinary investigation, were also expelled from school.
"The concept of 'children pushed into crime' is frequently discussed in the public sphere, while an unimaginable incident occurred in Kahramanmaraş. Six female students, accompanied by their families, went to the courthouse to file a complaint, stating that their photos had been manipulated using artificial intelligence to make them obscene.
THEY CREATED OBSCENE IMAGES OF THEIR FRIENDS WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Teams from the Cyber Crime Department of the Provincial Police Department, which initiated an investigation into the incident, determined that the photos on the social media accounts of male students E.Y. (15) and B.B.Y. (16) were created using artificial intelligence.
TWO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARRESTED
The teams detained two high school students. After their procedures at the police station, the two students were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested and sent to prison.
THEY WERE ALSO EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL
The Provincial Directorate of National Education also initiated both administrative and disciplinary investigations regarding the incident. The Provincial Education Disciplinary Board decided to expel the students from school at the end of the investigation. E.Y. and B.B.Y. were expelled from school and removed from formal education.
Meanwhile, it was stated that an administrative investigation regarding the school administration and teachers involved in the incident is ongoing.
