One of our soldiers was martyred in the Olive Branch Operation area.

Sad news came from the Olive Branch Operation area. Infantry Specialist Sergeant Onur Çapan was martyred as a result of a weapon accident.

STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE

In a written statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was stated that "Our heroic comrade P.Uzm.Çvş. Onur ÇAPAN, on September 11, 2024, in the Olive Branch Operation area, was martyred as a result of a weapon accident. In this incident that deeply saddens us, we extend our condolences to our dear martyr who lost his life, and wish patience and condolences to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."

Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, in his message, said, "Our heroic comrade was martyred on September 11, 2024. On behalf of myself and the members of the Ministry of National Defense, I extend my condolences and patience to our heroic martyr's grieving family and our noble nation."

THE FIRE OF MARTYRDOM FELL ON AFYONKARAHISAR

The mother of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Onur Çapan (33), who was martyred as a result of a weapon accident in the Olive Branch Operation area, and his wife Makbule Çapan, who lives in Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar and in Isparta, were given the sad news. Turkish flags were hung on the house of the martyr's mother in Dinar and the house where his wife lives in Isparta. It was learned that the martyr had recently moved his wife and 2 children from Istanbul to Isparta and settled in the house there. It was stated that the martyr's father passed away in 2022.
