Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated in a statement to the local press that they have made a decision regarding the "TikTok ban initiative," which has been under discussion in the country for some time.
TO BE BANNED FOR AT LEAST 1 YEAR
Rama indicated that TikTok will be banned in the country for at least 1 year starting from 2025. It is noteworthy that this decision was made following the murder of a 14-year-old child by a peer on November 18 in the country.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On November 18, 14-year-old student Martin Cani was killed in a knife attack by another student at Fan Noli Primary School in Tirana, the capital of Albania. It was claimed that the argument among the students started on social media. In his initial statement after the incident, Rama mentioned that they were discussing banning TikTok and Snapchat.
