In Istanbul, an operation was carried out against those who accessed the blocked OnlyFans platform by changing their IP addresses to share obscene content from different countries. During the operation, 16 suspects were detained, and assets worth 300 million lira belonging to 2 companies, 10 properties, and 14 vehicles were seized. It was learned that the suspects who were subject to detention orders; Merve Taşkın, Gizem Bağdaçiçek, Burçin Erol, and Serpil Cansız, were abroad.
A large-scale operation was carried out against suspects who earned income through the OnlyFans platform, where adult content is shared, and laundered this income.
The Cyber Crime Department teams of the Istanbul Police Department, in coordination with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, initiated a study under the crimes of 'Money Laundering' and 'Obscenity'. Investigations revealed that access to the platform named OnlyFans, which was blocked by a court decision on June 7, 2023, was achieved by changing the IP address.
THEY DIRECTED TO SPECIAL CONTENT FOR A FEE
In the studies, it was determined that the suspects made posts through their public social media accounts, directing their followers to special content for a fee, and encouraged access to the platform with visuals and videos to increase interaction. It was also learned that access to the content was promoted not only through the platform but also via instant messaging applications.
16 DETENTIONS, 2 COMPANIES SEIZED
After the completion of the operations, a simultaneous operation was carried out against the suspects this morning. In the operation, 16 people were detained, and 2 companies with assets worth 300 million lira, 10 real estates, and 14 vehicles were seized.
4 SUSPECTS ABROAD
It was learned that the suspects subject to detention orders; Merve Taşkın, Gizem Bağdaçiçek, Burçin Erol, and Serpil Cansız are abroad.
