In the Alaşehir district of Manisa, gendarmerie teams conducted an operation against criminal organizations known as 'Çakallar' and 'Tokuçlar'. During the operation, 11 suspects were detained. Efforts are ongoing to capture one person who is on the run.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Alaşehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Manisa against the criminal organizations known as 'Çakallar' and 'Tokuçlar', a detention order was issued for 12 suspects.

11 PEOPLE ARRESTED

In response, teams from the Manisa Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Intelligence Branch conducted an operation at predetermined addresses with the participation of 133 personnel. During the operation, 11 suspects were detained, while it was learned that 1 suspect had fled.

Within the scope of the operation, searches were conducted at 12 addresses and 2 vehicles in the districts of Alaşehir, Sarıgöl, and Akhisar, resulting in the seizure of 30 promissory notes worth 3 million 622 thousand 150 TL, 124 blank promissory notes, 2 checks worth 560 thousand TL, 6 notebooks, 25 vehicle sales contracts, 3 vehicle registration documents, 11 title deeds, 3 notification letters, 2 written documents related to receivables and payables, 26 grams of drugs, 2 shotguns, 18 mobile phones, and 4 external drives. The 11 suspects detained and the seized materials were taken to the gendarmerie command.

THEY HAVE GAINED 150 MILLION LIRA ILLEGALLY

On the other hand, it was determined that the two criminal organizations had been signing promissory notes with individuals engaged in farming in the Alaşehir district and surrounding areas, who were in a financially difficult situation, under the condition of receiving payment after the grape and olive harvest. They threatened the victims and their families who could not pay their debts to have them sign promissory notes again, thereby increasing their debts and engaging in usury. It was revealed that the criminal organizations had gained 150 million lira from 55 victims.

As a result of technical and physical surveillance, it was reported that an operation was carried out against the two criminal organizations for the crimes of 'establishing an organization to commit crimes', 'usury', and 'threat'.
