Operations centered in Ankara were conducted regarding the secret structure of FETÖ within the Naval Forces. In these operations, 10 officers and non-commissioned officers identified as having connections to FETÖ were detained. It was learned that one of the suspects is currently on duty, while nine have been dismissed.
As a result of the operations carried out in Ankara, 10 officers/non-commissioned officers, including 1 on duty and 9 dismissed, were detained on suspicion of being affiliated with FETÖ.
"ALL SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN DETAINED"
Operations against FETÖ were conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau.
In a statement regarding the operations, it was noted that "Within the scope of the investigations conducted by our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it has been understood that the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization infiltrated the Naval Forces Command and established a structure referred to as 'confidential services.' It has been determined that they communicated and exchanged information with civilian imams by using prepaid fixed lines located in public businesses such as buffets, grocery stores, and markets in various neighborhoods across Ankara, and there are statements indicating that they are members of the organization within the scope of the ongoing investigations. A total of 10 officers/non-commissioned officers, including 1 on duty and 9 previously dismissed, have been decided to be detained starting from September 17, 2025, in 3 provinces centered in Ankara. All suspects have been captured and detained, and the procedures for their transfer to our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are ongoing by the teams of the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Division."
