In the operation carried out in the Söğüt district, 349 pieces of historical artifacts and various tools were found.
An operation was carried out against the smuggling of historical artifacts in the Söğüt district of Bilecik. Teams from the Bilecik Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling Branch and the Söğüt District Gendarmerie Command jointly conducted a judicial search at the residence of an individual named N.Ş., seizing a large number of materials that qualify as historical artifacts.
SEIZED HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE BILECIK MUSEUM DIRECTORATE
In the operation; a total of 349 pieces of historical artifacts were found, including 168 coins of various sizes, 80 stone objects, 36 rings, 31 metal coins, 21 round stone objects, 9 pottery fragments, 1 metal vase, 1 sickle, 1 metal bowl, and 1 bowl base object, along with 1 detector, 1 pickaxe, and 1 shovel.
While an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, it was reported that the seized historical artifacts will be delivered to the Bilecik Museum Directorate.
