Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated in a statement on his social media account that the fight against new generation crime organizations, street gangs, and organized crime structures continues with determination.

Gürlek announced that following the circular sent to 175 High Criminal Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in 81 provinces last week and the simultaneous operations carried out across the country, two important operations were launched this morning.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a comprehensive operation was launched against 117 suspects identified as supplying personnel to new generation crime organizations, directing young people to crime, and being connected to gangs.

5 BILLION LIRA BLACK MONEY TRAFFIC

In the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that a new generation criminal organization laundered illegal betting revenues by transferring them to cold wallets through electronic money institutions and crypto assets.

According to MASAK reports, search and detention operations were initiated in Ankara, Sivas, Diyarbakır, and Batman, centered in Istanbul, for 28 suspects found to have managed approximately 5 billion 66 million lira worth of black money traffic.

"WE ARE ALSO CUTTING OFF FINANCIAL JUGULAR VEINS"

Evaluating the operations, Gürlek said, "We are not only cutting off the street hitmen of the gangs but also their financial jugular veins at the root. We continue to pursue anyone who disrupts the peace of our nation, victimizes our citizens through ill-gotten gains, and drags our youth into crime, within the boundaries of the law."

THANKED THE TEAMS

Akın Gürlek thanked the Ankara and Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, the Ankara Provincial Police Department, the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, and all public officials involved in the operations, emphasizing that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the fight against criminal organizations targeting public order will continue with determination.
