Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his official social media account that an operation was conducted by police teams at Mersin Port as part of the "International Drug Enforcement" and that 298 kilograms of cocaine were seized.
IT CAME FROM A CONTAINER LABELED "LEGAL CARGO PEANUTS"
According to Yerlikaya's statement, a search was conducted on a ship as a result of the efforts of the Narcotic Crimes Department of the Mersin Police Department. During the inspection of the container sent from Brazil to Turkey, which was stated to have legal cargo of peanuts, 298 kilograms of cocaine were found.

Minister Yerlikaya emphasized in his post that the fight against drugs is being carried out decisively "from the baron to the dealer," stating that their goal is to protect citizens, especially young people, from drugs.
Yerlikaya congratulated the Mersin Governorship, the Mersin Police Department, and the police officers involved in the operation, saying, "May God not let a stone touch your foot."
