In the Reyhanlı district of Hatay, 16 suspects were detained in a simultaneous operation against the armed criminal organizations 'Çapinler' and 'Sasunlu'. It was determined that the organizations were involved in 30 separate judicial incidents between 2024 and 2026, including intentional killing, wounding, and threats against each other, and that the suspects had a total of 617 judicial records. Various weapons and drugs were seized in the operation.

In the Reyhanlı district of Hatay, 16 suspects were detained in an operation against the armed criminal organizations known as 'Çapinler' and 'Sasunlu'.

Within the scope of the studies carried out by the Reyhanlı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the KOM Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department, an operation was launched to apprehend suspects who were determined to be acting with two armed criminal organizations known as 'Çapinler' and 'Sasunlu' in the district and to have been involved in numerous armed incidents due to the feud between them.

THEY WERE FOUND TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN 30 SEPARATE JUDICIAL INCIDENTS

In the investigations conducted, it was determined that the groups in question acted together with their family members and circles consisting of young people; between 2024 and 2026, they were involved in 30 separate judicial incidents, including intentional killing, intentional injury with a firearm, damage to property, threats, deliberately endangering public safety, and violating Law No. 6136. It was especially noted that there was a remarkable increase in criminal acts between the groups this year, and that firearms were used in 12 of the 13 separate incidents that occurred during the year. In the technical and physical investigations carried out within the scope of the investigation, vehicles, suspects, and images related to some incidents were identified. Additionally, it was understood that the two groups made posts on social media platforms threatening, insulting, and creating fear against each other and the local people; they shared images of weapons and videos and photos of workplaces being shot. In the examinations, it was recorded that the active suspects considered to be operating within the two groups had a total of 617 judicial records for various crimes.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION AGAINST 25 SUSPECTS

Within the scope of the investigation, a simultaneous operation was carried out at dawn today against 25 suspects determined to have played an active role in the incidents. In the raids on the determined addresses, 16 suspects were detained, including 5 from the Çapinler group and 11 from the Sasunlu group. In the searches conducted at the suspects' addresses; 2.21 grams of skunk, 1 shotgun, 1 unlicensed pistol, 1 pistol frame, 4 pistol magazines, 19 bullets, 121 cartridges, 3 knives, and 1 brass knuckle were seized. The detained suspects were taken to the police station for questioning.
