Nesrin Baş, competing in the women's 72 kg category at the 2025 World Wrestling Championship held in Croatia, has secured her place in the finals.
NESRİN BAŞ REACHED THE FINALS
In the ongoing event in the capital Zagreb, Nesrin defeated Slovak Zsuzsanna Molnar 9-4 in the first round and won by fall against Romanian Alexandra Nicoleta Anghel while leading 3-0 in the quarter-finals. The national wrestler also advanced past Asian champion Zelu Li with a score of 9-6 in the semi-finals and will face Ukrainian Alla Belinska in the championship match. Nesrin Baş, who became the European champion last year in Bucharest, Romania, will step onto the mat tomorrow to achieve her first world championship title in the senior category.
BUSE WILL COMPETE FOR THE BRONZE MEDAL
The reigning world champion in the women's 68 kg category, Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, lost her semi-final match against Japanese AmiI Shii by technical superiority.
The national athlete, who finished third at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will compete for the bronze medal against her opponent coming from the repechage tomorrow.
