Gendarmerie forces carry out operation in Mersin province.

At least 336 liters of bootleg alcohol were seized by gendarmerie forces in southern Turkey, an official statement said on Thursday.


Acting on a tip-off, local gendarmerie teams raided an address in the Toroslar district of the Mersin province, the provincial gendarmerie command said in a statement.


Some 336 liters of bootleg alcohol and various materials used in the production of alcohol was also seized in the operation, the source added.


A suspect was also arrested and later released by a court pending trial. -
