In a statement made by the TFF, it was stated that "After being taken off the field on a stretcher during the Italy-Turkey friendly match and later taken to the hospital, our national football player Ozan Kabak's examination and tests have been completed. As a result of the checks, a tear in Ozan's right knee anterior cruciate ligament has been detected, and our 24-year-old defender has been removed from the A National Team's EURO 2024 extended squad due to the seriousness of his injury. We send our best wishes to Ozan Kabak for his unfortunate injury and wish him a speedy and healthy return to the field."
