The chairman of the CHP, Özgür Özel, stated that the Demirören Shopping Mall, which they called for a boycott, has changed its name. It has been learned that the shopping mall changed its name to İstiklal Shopping Mall two years ago.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel addressed the crowd gathered for the last time in Saraçhane, following the process that began with Ekrem İmamoğlu's detention on March 19 as part of investigations into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and continued with his arrest and removal from office.
"CHANGED ITS NAME AFTER THE CALL FOR A BOYCOTT OF DEMİRÖREN MALL"
Özel stated that they changed the name of Demirören Mall on İstiklal Street, where they called for a 'boycott', to İstiklal Mall. Özel said, "There is someone who has passed the class. There is Demirören on İstiklal Street. All kinds of evil and wrong are in it. But Demirören Mall has been bought by others. They called me and said, 'Lift the boycott.' I said, 'Then you also take down the sign.' They have removed the names and made them İstiklal Mall. This is the power of the boycott." he expressed.
WHAT DID ÖZEL SAY?
Özel, in a speech he made again yesterday in Saraçhane, announced a boycott list and included Demirören Mall in the list, saying, "Cross from the opposite sidewalk..."
