Özgür Özel's assessment of 'Imralı': The ground for a solution should be the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel evaluated the meeting held yesterday in İmralı with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan by the DEM Party delegation and the statement made by the DEM Party following the meeting.

"WE HAVE BEEN ARGUING THAT THE SOLUTION GROUND SHOULD BE THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY FROM THE BEGINNING"

Özel stated that he would request an appointment from the DEM Party delegation to hold discussions on the matter, saying, "In principle, we are in a dialogue ground with all parties and we keep all our communication channels open. Our approach to the process is clear. We have been arguing that the solution ground should be the Grand National Assembly from the beginning. We are in favor of the process being conducted transparently."

Özel continued his remarks as follows: "One of our most important criteria is to take into account the sensitivities of the families of martyrs and our veterans. In this context, we are following the developments; the information we have is not sufficient for a detailed comment yet. Once we have a grasp of the details, we will evaluate them in our competent boards and share them with the public."
