Özgür Özel's remarks about "Cunta" at the CHP congress received a very harsh response from AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik and AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı. Çelik stated, "In the democratic political lexicon, it says 'Cunta equals CHP.' Özgür Özel does not know political history, nor does he know how to construct a political sentence."

Özgür Özel's speech at the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress included the statement, "Turkey is being governed by a junta that fears the election, fears its opponent, and fears the nation. Tayyip Erdoğan has turned from a president who has the support of the people into a junta leader who targets those who have the support of the people as potential rivals." This statement received a very harsh reaction from AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, as well as AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı.

"JUNTA EQUALS CHP"

Ömer Çelik stated, "In the democratic political dictionary, it says 'Junta equals CHP'." In his written statement, Çelik used the following expressions: "CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has used the term 'junta administration' against our President and our government. Throughout our political history, the CHP has always been the political supporter of junta administrations for decades. In the democratic political dictionary, it says 'Junta equals CHP'. Özgür Özel does not know political history, nor does he know how to construct political sentences. Using these expressions against our President, who has won every election with the will of the people, is nothing but a malicious political ignorance. It is a typical CHP tradition; they call the will elected by democratic means a junta, while they view dark junta administrations as democracy. Thanks to our President's great political struggle, all hidden and open juntas over our democracy have been rendered ineffective. The CHP tradition that supports juntas has also submitted to the 'Yassıada mentality' in this congress."

"MANIFESTATION OF A PROBLEMATIC MINDSET"

AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı stated: "The chairman of the CHP continues to pursue a 'dangerous' and 'ugly' political path by targeting our President and Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has emerged victorious with the great support of our people in all elections he has participated in so far, by calling him a 'junta president'. This audacity towards the President of the Republic of Turkey, who has received the great favor of our esteemed nation in every election, is a manifestation of a 'problematic' mindset that disregards democracy and the will of the people.

Our President is in the Presidential office by the votes of our nation and represents our nation, deriving his power from the people. Those who cannot digest the national will have no place in the eyes of our nation. The CHP is experiencing the panic of being caught red-handed. Their targeting of our elected President and elected government without uttering a single word about corruption allegations is a sign of this panic. With this provocative language that includes insults, slander, and threats, you cannot escape responsibility.

What remains for the CHP is to wait for the independent and impartial judiciary to clarify the issue. Such outbursts will not make the CHP a government; they will only discredit it in the eyes of the nation. Respect for constitutional institutions, democracy, the national will, and the presidency elected through legitimate and democratic means is a duty for everyone, as it is for the opposition. I invite the leader of the main opposition to apologize to our nation and to Mr. President. Everyone who is in favor of democracy should stand against this provocative language of the CHP.

'In a person's mind, there can either be ideas or blasphemy.' Clearly, there are no ideas, the mind is filled with blasphemy. That is the problem. Our nation will certainly respond to those who cannot digest democracy. We will fight to the end against this mindset based on democracy and law."

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

In his speech at the congress, Özgür Özel stated: "Today, there is again a balance situation in Turkey that the nation will resolve. The coup plotters, that is, those who planned the coup, are currently trapped in the offices of state institutions in the palace as a junta due to the results of the previous election, but the streets belong to the will of the people, they are with us. Those junta friends are holding us captive. Today, Turkey is being governed by a junta that fears the election, fears its opponent, and fears the nation. Tayyip Erdoğan has turned from a president who has the support of the people into a junta leader who targets those who have the support of the people as potential rivals. He no longer has legitimacy; he fears the election and the streets. The will in this hall today is the will that will disperse that junta. Turkey is bigger than a handful of junta members.
