The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, addressed criticisms regarding the reduction of inflation. He stated, "They criticize by saying, 'Inflation cannot be reduced solely through monetary policy.' Well, who says it will decrease? When did we ever claim that?"

The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, stated at the IV. Agricultural Forestry Council "Agricultural Economy Workshop" program in Ankara that there is currently a serious level of protectionism and a set of issues being faced, and if protectionism remains as it is, a loss equivalent to the size of Germany and France could be experienced in the global economy.

In his speech, Minister Şimşek noted that efforts to reduce inflation are ongoing. However, he mentioned that there are some criticisms regarding this, stating that economic policies need to be addressed from a broad perspective for the control of inflation.

While addressing the criticisms that inflation cannot be controlled solely through monetary policy, Şimşek used striking expressions. Şimşek said, "Mehmet Şimşek: 'Inflation does not decrease just through monetary policy,' they criticize. Well, who says it will decrease? When did we claim that?"
