CHP Chairman Özgür Özel answered journalists' questions regarding the agenda on Halk TV. In his statements, Özel reacted to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan starting the group meeting with the Surah Al-Fath.

"In 2011, it was said that 'we will pray in the Umayyad Mosque' by saying conquest. Now they say, 'If he goes and prays, what about it?' Let him pray, is this prayer the same prayer? There are 283 martyrs, 200 billion lost money, 13 lost years, and 4.5 million refugees in between," said Özgür Özel, adding, "The head of MIT prayed. May Allah accept it, but is it the duty of an important state official to perform the prayer of Erdoğan's accident 13 years later? These are not things that should happen."

"WHERE DID YOU CONQUER?"

Özel also stated, "Surah Al-Fath... Weren't we respectful of Syria's territorial integrity? Then where did you conquer? The land you conquered belongs to you. If you conquered Syria, the map of Turkey did not change. If you did not conquer, you are deceiving the people. Erdoğan always does this. By saying 'They will lower the flag, they will divide the homeland,' instead of alleviating the poverty of poor people, they manage their fears with non-existent, unrealistic fears. I have never seen such an immoral politics. We will not surrender to Erdoğan's politics of polarization, demonization, and mutual conflict."

"IT IS TIME TO GO OUT AND CLAIM YOUR RIGHTS"

Moreover, Özgür Özel regarding the rallies his party will organize stated, "The politics we are currently in needs something: After 1980, the coup plotters first broke the society's fighting spirit, and for the last 22 years, this government has been trying to intimidate the society. It is time to show courage. We stood up in the local elections and won the election. Now everyone needs to do their part to change this government. We invite everyone to the rallies we will hold. It is time to go out and claim your rights.

If one million people go to the square, the regime will change. I am not saying let’s go to the square and change the regime. We will go to the square, the regime will already change. When one million people go and hold an early election rally, they cannot steal that ballot from us. The target is clear: the entire opposition. Those who voted for the government yesterday are also included in this opposition. They sold them last night. Erdoğan has sold millions of minimum wage voters from the AK Party and MHP last night," he said.
