A diplomatic traffic focused on Palestine and Gaza took place in Ankara. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, while MIT President Ibrahim Kalın met with a Hamas delegation to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the second phase of the peace plan.
Important meetings took place consecutively in Ankara.
PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN ACCEPTED THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE STATE OF PALESTINE
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accepted the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein al-Sheikh. The meeting at the Presidential Complex was held behind closed doors.
In the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, President of the National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın, President of the Presidency Communication Burhanettin Duran, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç were also present.
MIT PRESIDENT KALIN MET WITH THE HEAD OF THE HAMAS POLITICAL BUREAU NEGOTIATION DELEGATION
Following the meeting, the President of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) İbrahim Kalın met with Khalil Hayye, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau Negotiation Delegation, and the accompanying delegation.
According to information obtained from security sources, the meeting addressed the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza and the continuing humanitarian crisis, as well as settler terrorism in the West Bank and the restrictions imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
It was emphasized in the meeting that Israel must fulfill its obligations arising from the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan, and detailed evaluations were made regarding the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza Peace Plan.
The Hamas delegation expressed their gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for Turkey's efforts to achieve peace in Gaza to date.
