This year's Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, Paris Breakfast Run canceled for health reasons.

France on Wednesday canceled two Paris marathons due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

"The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris and the Paris Breakfast Run 2020 are canceled. See you in 2021," the Paris Marathon said in a statement on its website.

Organizers said the events' cancelation came after talks with the French capital's municipal officials.

The Paris Marathon was last planned to be held on Nov. 15 after being postponed twice from the original date of April 5 for health reasons.

It is one of the largest races in Europe, with at least 57,000 runners from 140 countries joining every year.

The distance is around 42.2 kilometers (26.2 miles).

Meanwhile, the Paris Breakfast Run is a friendly sporting event for warm-up, offering a 5 km (3.1 miles) run for attendees.

It was previously scheduled for Nov. 14. -
