21 people died and 19 were injured when a passenger bus overturned on the road connecting Iraq's Nasiriyah and Basra cities. It was stated that among the deceased were Iranian citizens, and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zeydi ordered an investigation into the accident.
A traffic accident in Iraq turned into a disaster. A passenger bus overturned while traveling on the road connecting the cities of Nasiriyah and Basra in the south of the country.
According to reports in the Iraqi press, 21 people, including Iranian passengers, lost their lives in the accident, and 19 others were injured.
INJURED TAKEN TO HOSPITALS
Numerous health and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Iraqi Health Minister Abdulhussein al-Musawi announced that he had ordered the mobilization of all available resources to provide the necessary medical support to the injured.
PRIME MINISTER ORDERS INVESTIGATION
In a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi ordered a comprehensive investigation into the accident.
The statement also indicated that relevant institutions have been tasked with providing emergency intervention to the injured and necessary support to the relatives of the deceased. The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
