In the Ziraat Turkey Cup match against Kocaelispor, Sivasspor was penalized with a forfeit loss by the Professional Football Discipline Board (PFDK) for fielding the administratively suspended player Murat Paluli. In the match of the 22nd week of the Super League, where Sivasspor lost 1-0 to Eyüpspor, right-back Murat Paluli was sent off with a red card in the 85th minute.

In the Ziraat Turkey Cup match where they won 2-0 against Kocaelispor, Sivasspor was penalized with a forfeit loss by the PFDK for fielding player Murat Paluli, who was under administrative precaution.

3-0 FORFEIT LOSS

In a statement made by the PFDK, it was stated, "Net Global Sivasspor Club is deemed to have lost (3-0) by forfeit due to the participation of an administratively precautionary player in the match played on 04.02.2025 between Kocaelispor and Net Global Sivasspor in the Ziraat Turkey Cup Group Stage, in accordance with articles 22/f and 23/4 of the Football Match Regulations. Although a referral was made to our Board regarding the action of non-compliance with the precautionary measure by Murat Paluli, a player of Net Global Sivasspor Club, who played in the match despite being under administrative precaution; it has been decided that there is no basis for imposing a penalty as the elements of the alleged disciplinary violation were not established."

MURAT PALULI RECEIVED A RED CARD IN THE EYÜPSPOR MATCH

In the match where Sivasspor lost 1-0 to Eyüpspor in the 22nd week of the Super League, right-back Murat Paluli was sent off with a red card in the 85th minute. After the match, Murat Paluli was referred to the PFDK under precautionary measures due to his "unlawful action" in accordance with article 43 of the Football Disciplinary Regulations. Murat Paluli, who was referred to the PFDK under precautionary measures, was included in the squad for the Kocaelispor match in the Turkey Cup played by Sivasspor on Tuesday, February 4, and was substituted in the 65th minute.

SIVASSPOR ALSO RELEASED A STATEMENT

Sivasspor, which made a statement regarding the decision, used the following expressions;

"Our football player Murat Paluli was expelled from the match played on 31.01.2025 between İkas Eyüpspor and Net Global Sivasspor due to an intervention that was recorded as a serious foul in the referee reports, and following his expulsion, he was referred to the PFDK under precautionary measures starting from 01.02.2025 with the referral dated 03.02.2025 from the TFF Legal Consultancy.

The TFF Football Disciplinary Regulation includes the provision 92.1, which states, "Players and other officials who are expelled from the field in official matches or against whom an administrative precautionary decision has been made cannot play or take on any official duties until the precautionary decision imposed on them is lifted or their penalties are executed, except for the exceptions specified in paragraphs 4, 5, and 6 of this article." The mentioned paragraph 6 encompasses the provision that "The penalties of players and officials who are penalized with exclusion from the match for up to four (4) matches due to violations in professional leagues, regional amateur leagues, and cup matches are executed in their own category, considering the relevant official match category."

The purpose of not delaying the execution of the penalty to be imposed is to serve the discipline procedure, and it is contrary to law and conscience to claim that Murat Paluli, who was penalized with a 2-match exclusion, is under precautionary measures in the cup match.

Moreover, the most important issue was that when we entered the 21-player match squad into the system at 10:00 AM on the day before the cup match and on the match day, there was no warning in the TFF Card and Penalty Status inquiry screen indicating that Murat Paluli was penalized or under precautionary measures. Normally, penalized or precautionary players receive warnings in this system and cannot be added to the list, but no such warning message was given for our player. It is inconceivable that our Net Global Sivasspor, which has been competing in the Super League for over 20 years, or any club, would make a mistake in the standard procedure applied before each match.

Our great community, which is the true and sole owner of Net Global Sivasspor, founded in 1967, which has won the Turkey Cup championship and proudly represents our country in European cups, should know that we will continue to fight all kinds of legal and judicial battles to the end. If there is any mistake made by anyone in our club, whether intentionally or inadvertently, all necessary punitive measures will be applied without fail. We respectfully announce to the public."
