Colombian President Gustavo Petro reacted to U.S. President Trump's targeting of Colombia over drugs. Petro stated, "You awaken the jaguar. An attack on our sovereignty is a declaration of war. Colombia is the country that has helped the most in stopping thousands of tons of cocaine to prevent Americans from consuming it."
Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that U.S. President Donald Trump's targeting of Colombia alongside Venezuela through drugs is "an act of war against our sovereignty."
In a post on his account on the U.S.-based X social media platform, Petro evaluated Trump's remarks about being determined to fight against drugs that he claims have reached American soil from countries like Venezuela and Colombia.
"COME HERE AND JOIN THE DESTRUCTION OF 9 LABORATORIES" Inviting Trump to his country, President Petro said: "I invite you to join the destruction of 9 laboratories that we carry out every day, so you can see how we prevent cocaine from reaching the U.S. During my government, I destroyed 18,400 laboratories without using missiles. Come, let me show you how a laboratory is destroyed every 40 minutes."

TRUMP'S THREAT: "WE WILL STRIKE VENEZUELAN TERRITORY IF NECESSARY" Trump had answered questions from reporters regarding the agenda after a cabinet meeting held at the White House that lasted nearly 2 hours and was broadcast live.
Stating that they are determined to fight against drugs that he claims have reached American soil from countries like Venezuela and Colombia, Trump expressed that they would do whatever is necessary and that he had fully authorized the Pentagon in this regard. Mentioning Venezuela and Colombia several more times, Trump argued that these countries are responsible for most of the drugs coming to the U.S.
