Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking about his country's frozen assets, said, "According to the established plan, $6 billion of the $12 billion in frozen assets held in Qatar will return to the country." Describing the memorandum of understanding reached with the US as a 'great victory' for the Iranian people, Pezeshkian also noted that sanctions on Iran's petrochemical and oil exports have been lifted under the agreement.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made statements regarding his country's frozen assets during a meeting with cleric Ayatollah Shabiri Zanjani in the city of Qom.
"6 BILLION DOLLARS OF 12 BILLION DOLLAR ASSETS WILL RETURN TO THE COUNTRY"
"According to the established program, 6 billion dollars of the 12 billion dollars in frozen assets in Qatar will return to the country," said Pezeshkian, adding that necessary efforts are underway to return the remaining 6 billion dollars.
"MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING IS A GREAT VICTORY FOR THE IRANIAN PEOPLE"
Describing the memorandum of understanding reached with the US as a 'great victory' for the Iranian people, Pezeshkian noted that within the framework of the agreement, sanctions on Iran's petrochemical and oil exports have been lifted. Pezeshkian also stated that despite Israel and some groups still opposing the implementation of the agreement, the US eventually forced Israel to accept the peace memorandum.
"WE ARE NOT SEEKING NUCLEAR WEAPONS"
Reiterating Iran's stance on nuclear activities, Pezeshkian added that they are not seeking to develop nuclear weapons, and that nuclear work will continue only in accordance with the country's needs and within the framework of announced policies.
